The perfect family experience and suitable for all ages, Santa’s Husky Rides provides you with a 30-minute hustk experience, giving you an excellent taste of dog sledding, while conveniently located directly in Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi Finland. A professional musher drives you over a 2,5 km snowy trail through the Arctic Circle forest. After the ride, warm up inside our kota with hot juice and cookies, as our guides share interesting, fun-facts about our Alaskan Huskies.

What‘s Included in Santa’s Husky Rides?

Step 1: Arrival and Check-In
Arrive at our reception inside Santa Claus Village and check in with our team. One of our friendly staff members will welcome you, answer any questions, and seat you comfortably in the sled. Warm blankets are provided on the sled, so you can relax and enjoy the ride.

Step 2: 2,5 km Musher-Driven Husky Sled Ride
Hold on and feel the excitement as our expert musher guides a team of energetic Alaskan Huskies through the snowy Arctic forest. The route covers 2,5 kilometres and takes approximately 8 to 12 minutes. It is fast, fun, and completely safe — you do not need any previous experience with dogs or sledding. The musher handles everything while you sit back and take it all in.
This is a musher-driven ride, meaning a trained professional guides the sled and the dogs throughout the entire journey. Perfect for first-timers, families with small children, and anyone who prefers to simply enjoy the experience rather than steer.

Step 3: Husky Chat with Hot Juice and Cookies in the Kota (Indoors)
After the ride, head inside to our warm indoor space for a tasty snack and husky chat. Inside out kota – a traditional, Finnish log hut – you can warm up with hot juice and delicious cookies and will be given the opportunity to learn how Alaskan Huskies live, train, and thrive in Arctic conditions. Find out what they eat, how they stay warm, and why they love running in the snow so much during this informal question and answer session. This is your chance to learn from the folks that spend their lives – day in and day out – with these incredible animals. This time also gives you the chance to relax, share photos, and the magic of Lapland and soak in the moments.
